Why Greta Van Fleet Matter

Many of their critics forget they are not the product of reality tv or a talent show. They are all in their early 20s, writing and arranging their own music without the help of co-producers co-writers. Their music is not the product of computers or studio gadgets or samples but is created by them. Music has gone as far as it can go. The music of the 60s and 70 got it so perfectly right the first time around. Those who come after will be compared to what became before. This is a mistake. Don’t compare to the past compare to the present, and if you do so, you see that Greta Van Fleet should be embraced not as the saviour of rock but as four talented young musicians making great rock n roll. As fans of music, we should all embrace them and support them on their journey. Some will continue to slate them, and the comparison with zeppelin will continue. The band themselves must continue to ignore the critics and continue on their path. All the signs show this is what they are doing. So if we, the fans of rock music, want it to continue to inspire a younger generation, we must support those who are keeping it alive. People should embrace the Greta Van fleet and the bands they will inspire.

Tony Visconti was a New Yorker at the heart of post-swinging London, the producer who helped the UK cope with its ‘60s hangover. With T. Rex and, chiefly, David Bowie, he produced records synonymous with rock’s cutting-edge in Soho in the ‘70s. Producer Tony Visconti explained how he found himself in London during the Swinging '60s, detailed his work with David Bowie on the Berlin Trilogy, and revealed insights into what it takes to be a producer in this lengthy lecture at RBMA Madrid 2011.

Kurt Cobain

If there are truths to the conspiracy theories around the true cause of Cobain’s death, why has it remained ignored by the police? What motive do they have to lie? If so, how has a coverup of the true cause of death remained secret? These questions, to my knowledge, remain to be answered. The truth is Kurt was not a man without his demons and it’s clear that towards the end of his life he had become disgusted and disillusioned with fame and success he retreated into drugs leading to a tragic Nothing is going to change the fact that Kurt left this world far too early. He spoke to a generation, invented a style of music and continues to speak to his fans young and old through his music and lyrics offering comfort and sanctuary. This is his legacy, this matters. This is what we should always remember him for not the cause of his death.
